Nobrow (TM) was set up in the winter of 2008 to provide an independent publishing platform for illustration and the graphic arts that would showcase some of  the best talent out there today, whether fresh out of college or from the ranks of well seasoned veterans.

Our aim is to place a renewed focus on quality in print, using wherever possible the best materials we can get our hands on and always trying to play with format, color, size and design to ensure that our publications are well conceived and individual. We work closely with locally based printers wherever possible so that we can be involved in the creative process from start to finish and we always try to achieve finished products that are not only filled with great work, but that themselves are art objects, to be coveted, collected and cherished.

Sam Arthur

Sam Arthur

Sam has ten years experience as a director of short films, commercials and music videos. His work has always been generated via drawing regardless of the end product. As a result he has worked with live action, puppetry, animation and special effects to achieve his compelling narratives. His love of illustration and design and a long held ambition to set up an artist’s screen-printing studio led him to co-found Nobrow in 2008.

Alex Spiro

Alex Spiro

Illustration was a second calling for Alex who was all but set for a career as an academic after his first degree readi ng History at Oxford. After earning a 1st from Central Saint Martins in illustration, he went on to gain a scholarship at the Prince's Drawing School, where he divided his time between commissioned work and his studies. A print ephemera collector extraordinaire, his legendary filing and display cabinets are brimming with nostalgic papery goodness and inky graphic treasures. This fascination for all things printed, illustrated and crafted led to him to co-found Nobrow in 2008.
