Precariously perched on a mountain top is the Sphinx Observatory, Europe’s highest altitude structure. A lift has been cut out of the living mountain to provide access to the spectacular site, which has been in use since 1937.
This is one of a series of six prints Rob Hunter made of various observatories for the Murmuring Landscape exhibition which ran in our gallery from November 2010 until January 2011. Each beautiful four colour screen-print is an edition of less than 10 and is 20 x 25cm.
